Francesca R. Piro è medico e promotrice culturale. Lavora da oltre 20 anni nella sanità pubblica, dividendo il suo tempo tra la professione e i propri interessi e impegni nel campo della cultura, dell’ambiente e dei diritti civili. E’ co-fondatrice  del Progetto Mediterranea, spedizione nautica, culturale e scientifica nel mar Mediterraneo, con cui naviga per lunghi periodi durante l’anno, alla ricerca del pensiero e dell’identità mediterranea. Da 4 anni ha fondato anche La Linea d’Ombra, spazio culturale indipendente, luogo d’incontro e condivisione d’idee per scrittori, artisti ed intellettuali.

Francesca R. Piro is a pathologist M.D. and cultural promoter. She is in public health for over 20 years, sharing her time between the job and her interests and commitments in the field of culture, the environment and civil rights. She is co-founder of Progetto Mediterranea, nautical, cultural and scientific expedition in the Mediterranean Sea, with which she sails for long time during the year, searching of Mediterranean thought and identity. From 2015 she has also founded La Linea d'Ombra, an independent cultural space, a meeting place and a sharing of ideas for writers, artists and intellectuals.
